Strength Coaching — In-Person & Online

Training witha plan,not a guess.

Forma builds structured strength programs for people who are done winging it in the gym — coached, tracked, and adjusted week over week, whether you train with me directly or from anywhere in the world.

Sound Familiar?

You're not undisciplined.
You're unstructured.

01

Programs that don't stick

Three different plans this year, none of them past week four.

02

Effort without direction

You work hard every session, but you can't point to what it's building toward.

03

A plateau with no explanation

Progress stalled months ago and nothing you've tried has moved it.

04

No one watching your work

You want a coach reviewing your training, not just a spreadsheet you fill in alone.

Philosophy

Most training fails the same four ways.

Forma programs are written specifically to avoid them.

Chase a new program every time progress slows.

Progressive, measurable overload — the current block gets adjusted, not replaced.

Follow a template built for someone else's schedule.

Programming built around your actual week, so it survives contact with real life.

Push load before the movement pattern is sound.

Technique first. Weight goes up once the pattern holds under video review.

Guess whether it's working from how a session felt.

Training logs and check-ins replace guesswork — adjustments come from what happened.

Training Science

Programming that accounts for the whole system.

Strength training is regional, not generic — every block balances load across the body instead of chasing one lift at the expense of the rest.

01Upper Body & Arms

Pressing and pulling volume balanced to protect shoulder health under load.

02Core & Back

Trunk stability trained directly, not left as an afterthought of the main lifts.

03Legs & Glutes

Squat and hinge patterns progressed on a schedule your joints can actually recover from.

How Coaching Works

From inquiry to ongoing coaching, in five clear steps.

Inquiry

You apply through a short questionnaire covering goals, training background, and availability.

Assessment call

A focused conversation (or async video review) to understand movement history, constraints, and what "success" means for you.

Program design

Your first training block is built around your schedule, equipment access, and current capacity.

Onboarding

You get set up in the tracking system, walked through logging, and briefed on how check-ins work.

Ongoing coaching

Weekly check-ins, video form review, and block-to-block adjustments as you progress.

What Structure Looks Like

Strength that compounds, block over block.

No two clients start in the same place, so there are no generic numbers to promise. What's consistent is the shape of the process — each block builds deliberately on the last.

Block 1

Baseline established. Technique standards set, starting loads conservative.

Block 2

Volume and intensity progress on a plan you can see coming, not guess at.

Block 3

Weak points addressed directly. Program shifts based on what your logs show.

Block 4+

Strength compounds. Adjustments get smaller and more precise over time.

About the Coach

Marcus Reyes — coaching built on years under the bar

Forma is a strength and performance coaching practice founded by Marcus Reyes, built around structured programming and honest feedback. Coaching draws on a background in competitive strength sport and years of hands-on work with lifters at every stage — from people returning to the gym after time away to competitive athletes chasing a total.

The approach favors fundamentals over trends: progressive overload, sound technique, and programs that account for recovery, stress, and the rest of your life — not just the ninety minutes you spend in the gym.

Coaching is available in-person in Austin, TX, and online for everyone else, with the same standard of attention either way — structured programming, video form checks, and a weekly check-in that actually gets read.

The Standard

Every block is built, not improvised.

Structure isn't a constraint on your training — it's what makes progress visible.

Every session

Coached in person or reviewed on video — no set goes unwatched.

Every block

Written before it starts, adjusted from what your logs actually show.

Every check-in

Read personally, replied to within two business days, every time.

Who It's For

An honest fit check

Coaching works best when expectations are clear from the start. Here's how to tell if Forma is the right setup for you.

Good fit

  • You can commit to 3-5 training sessions per week for at least a training block (8-12 weeks).
  • You're willing to log your training and respond to weekly check-ins.
  • You're training for a clear goal: strength, a competition total, or a body composition change built on strength training.
  • You're open to coaching cues and occasional program changes based on how you're actually responding.

Not a fit right now

  • You're looking for a single one-off session with no ongoing structure.
  • You want a program but don't want any check-ins or accountability.
  • You're currently working through an injury without medical clearance to train.
  • You're looking for meal-by-meal meal planning or medical/nutrition therapy - that's outside scope here.
FAQ

Common questions

No. Programs are built around your current capacity, whether that's your first structured block or your tenth year of training. What matters is willingness to follow the process.

Ready to train with a real plan?

Applications take about five minutes. Tell me where you're starting from and what you're training for, and I'll follow up to schedule your assessment call.
